Halloween is only a month away...

...and in the Vazquez House we are already dressing up and getting ready. Andre got a picture book from the library that he loves to read called "Dear Vampa" and ever since then has been obsessed with Vampires (hmm, I wonder where he gets that from?). Anyways, he has been demanding to be a vampire for Halloween ever since then even despite Cesar, my mom and I suggesting other costume ideas-all of which he shoots down immediately. I like for the kids to match at Halloween and Evie agrred to be a Vampire too once we saw this adorable costume. We are still working on putting their costumes together but I think we have a good start. :[

EVEN MORE PICS!

More Pics From Our Birthday

Cesar and Michelle Turn 27!

So, this past Saturday Cesar and I turned 27 (yes, we have the same birthday). In order to celebrate we decided to do something that we usually never do and decided to go out and party with all of our friends (I even had 2 or 7 drinks ;) ) at Dave and Buster's the night before. Anyways, we had a GREAT time and I can't wait to do it again soon!

Andre's First Day of Kindergarten!

This is Andre looking super sharp on his first day of Kindergarten! The day started off great! Andre was in a good mood, we all woke up early and had plenty of time to get ready, and he got on the bus with a big smile on his face, but all that changed when I got a call from Andre's teacher asking if he was coming to school that day over an hour after he had gotten on the bus! 10 mins after I had my heart attack and mental breakdown I recieved another call from his teacher saying that they found him because another teacher had taken him into her room. Why? I have no clue. He is so adorable though that I guess I can't blame another teacher for wanting to have him in her class. Anyways, the rest of the day and the rest of the week went great. He has already gone beyond his teacher's expectations of him. He was suppose to only spend about half the day in his regular kinder class at the begining of the year and then around Christmas start going in all day but he is doing so wonderful they already have him in there all day. I am one proud mama :)

Evie got her ear's pierced!

A few weeks ago we were at Fiesta mall and I was looking at Claire's trying to find myself a new pair of earrings. Well, I saw the piercing booth and decided It was time for Evie to get her ears done. My mom mpierced ,ine when I was 18 months old and since Evie is 2 and a half I figured she was past due. Plus, she is such a girly-girl I knew she would love it! Well, she was very excited when we asked her if she wanted to get her ears done and she sat so nice and still while the lady prepped her ears but as soon as the first earring went in.....well, her sttitude changed slightly (by which I mean a lot!). At this point i should take a step back and mention there was an 8 year old girl standing their watching Evie getting ready to get her ears done. This girl asked many question such as "Does it hurt? How long does it take to heal" all of which I assured her was very minimal. "You only feel it for a second" I told her. Unfortunately, the second Evie's first earring went in she started screaming. The little girl took one look at Evie and ran away, LOL. Too bad. She probably won't build up the desire to get her ears pierced for a while....anyways, Evie was very upset. she looked at Cesar and I like we had bretayed her (No one told me this was going to hurt like hell!) but she calmed down after a few moments and got over it. Of course when we were in the car 30 mins later she got angry at me all over again and when I told her she was beautiful she started screaming at me again, "I'm NOT beautiful!!"  Now it has been a couple of weeks though and she LOVES showing her ears offf to everyone and admiring herself in the mirror. I can't wait till her ears are all heeled and I can start buying her lots of cute little girly earrings. The only problem with this is that I know she is going to start wanting to steal my jewelery for herself. It's worth it though to see my little mamacita happy :)

Eclipse Mania

Ok, I knew things were going to be wild when I and 11 other friends bought tickets to watch all 3 Twilight movies in a row at the Cine Capri Tempe Marketplace, but I really wasn't prepared for the insanity that happened. I had originally planned on leaving work and heading down to the theater at 1 but after talking to some friends had decided that was a little extreme and changed the time to 4. Well, at 11:30 I started receiving text messeges from friends who were already in line saying that the lines were already OUTSIDE the theater even though the movie didnt start til 7:00 later that evening! Eventually the line got so long that harkins decided to cancel the 4:30 showing of Toy Story 3 and let all of us vrazed fans in. This is where the madness really began. When of all ages (literally! I saw a elderly lady wearing a shirt that said "Grandma's for Carlisle" ) were running and pushing and dodging to get a decent seat. We surprisingly (Thanks to angie) were able to get pretty good seats in the middle of the theater. Unfortunately it was impossible to find a spot where all of us could sit together so we were split up into a couple groups. Everytime I would go down to the bathroom there was some middle aged woman yelling at a manager about all the good seats being taken (shoulda got there earlier like the rest of us, beeyotch)or management had grown women seperated and sitting on the floor in different spots so they could interview them seperately over the "altercation" I don't know what happened but I don't doubt the ferociousness of some Twilight Moms when it comes to their "twihardness" and devotion to their fictional lovers. There were so many hormonal women gathered in one spot that the theater changed the men's restroom into another Women's restroom so the lines would go quicker. Don't get me wrong. their was a fair share of men there sporting their own "Team Alice" and "Team Bella" shirts. Which leads me to another thought: I have never seen so many different shirts about the same thing. I saw at least 100 different Twilight themed shirts. Many were homemade but there was quite a lot of store purchased ones as well. Anyways, once the fils actually started the night when by pretty fast (I will admit that I probably slept about 20 minutes during Twilight). Everyone was so pumped up every time a new character was introduced. I found it especially entertaining the way the women (and some men) would roar every time oen of the werewolves took their shirt off. Almost as amusing as the lack of screaming when Edward (RPatts) took his shirt off at the end of new Moon (Um, can you seen asymetrical nipples?) Eclipse was fantastic. Probably the best of all so far. Great special effects and good job showing the angst and tension in the love triangle. I got home a little before 3 that night then woke up the next day at 5:50 to get ready for work. I apologize for any lack of spelling or sense that this post may lack but would like to blame some of it on the fact that i still have not had a full night's sleep. Already have plans to go see the movie again on Monday with some girlfriends. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Times have been tough lately but having good friends always makes the problems disappear. Sometimes it is fun to just go someplace with the girls and escape life's troubles. Even if only for a few hours.

Love you, ladies!

With the Hubby

Definately not the most flattering picture of either of us but we look happy and that's what matters.

Watching A Movie

Ok, I know it's probably not considered one of the best family activities but I LOVE just staying at home and watching movies with my family. My Daddy took this pic of the family.

Happiness

When I knew I was pregnant with Andre I use to think about the future. I would picture all my future children hanging around the house enjoying their own little activities like reading a book, playing a game, running around the house, chasing each other. There was always three kids in these visions and they all ended with us all being together and just relaxing and having fun hanging all over each other. Together. This picture symbolizes happiness to me. This is bliss. It's not going on vacation to strange exotic places. It's just being at home with my family.

Welcome to The Mendes/Vazquez Family Blog

This bloq is dedicated to my beautiful family and all my great friends who might as well be family. Above is the newest member of the family Cesar Sebastian (CJ). He is such a great little guy and the perfect finishing touch to our little family :)
